MANILA, Philippines – A bridge of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Ragay, Camarines Sur collapsed on Saturday morning, after the soil around one of its foundations eroded.
Officials of the Ragay municipal police station said the incident occurred at around 5 a.m.
The PNR no longer uses the bridge, which connects the villages of Cale and Apad, for its train system.
Residents have been using the bridge to cross a river and transport their produce.
According to netizen Tina Aquino, residents now have to ride boats so they could reach their destinations.
