Pillars of Shinjuku Station Transformed into Huggable Pompompurin #JHedzWorlD

For a limited time, an interactive installation has transformed the pillars of the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line at the Shinjuku Metro Promenade of Shinjuku Station into giant, huggable versions of Sanrio’s golden retriever mascot, Pompompurin.

The installation encourages passersby to take a break from their daily commute and pose for a picture with the popular mascot. Sanrio fans will have to act quickly, though, because the installation (which opened on March 07, 2016) only runs until March 13, 2016.

Japan can be a strange place sometimes.
