The protesters heading to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention, where Donald Trump will reportedly be presented as the Republican party’s nominee for President of the US, are hoping to get support from Prophets of Rage, a new supergroup featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill.

As Page Six reports, “John Penley, a Vietnam War vet who was once described as New York’s cuddliest anarchist, is hoping to book the Prophets to play in Cleveland, where he is trying to get a permit for a park in which anti-war protesters can camp out for four days.

“Penley, a stalwart in the Occupy Wall Street movement, was arrested four years ago in Charlotte, NC, for crossing a police line. A judge found him not guilty.”

Penley noted: “We’re trying to do it the right way, getting permits. We don’t want violence. So many people are coming to Philadelphia [where the Democratic convention will be held], they’re going to shut the city down. Only the radicals are going to Cleveland. The liberals are going to Philadelphia.”
